Here is your 5 step guide to perfecting rope climb technique. Make sure you are confident with each drill before moving onto the next.

Rope Climb Progressions

The first step is to get used to pulling arm over arm and ensure you have the necessary strength to lower yourself down the rope.

Next is the J - hook foot clamp, to must develop skill and confidence can to get your feet in the right position on the rope.

Step three is to test that the foot clamp is secure enough to hold your bodyweight with only one arm on the rope.

The clamp and stand drill is great for building confidence in setting your clamp with your feet off the floor. Make sure you extend your hips and stand tall as this will help you climb the rope with less effort further down the line.

Finally is the full rope climb, start with a low clamp (it will take several to get to the top!) As you start to master the rope climb progress on to a higher clamp which will take less to reach the top.
