I’ve been training for around 20 years, and I’ve done some fairly unconventional things with my strength — carrying an 80kg log across the Peak District for three days, lifting a giant rock in the middle of Trafalgar Square, and breaking a world record for spinning the heaviest Bulgarian bag.
I’m only able to do those things because I do the basics exceptionally well.
Over time, my focus has shifted from aesthetics, to lifting heavy, to what matters most now: being strong for life. Strength that supports longevity, confidence, and the ability to say yes to opportunities — whether that’s an ambitious physical challenge or simply getting through a long working day feeling capable.

Above all - I want clients to leave a session with me feeling better (albeit more exhausted) than they were when they arrived. I want them to have an awesome experience EVERY SESSION.
I don’t expect my clients to be brutes, and I don’t train them as such. Every programme I write is bespoke and built around the individual in front of me.What I do expect is a commitment to the fundamentals. Across a decade of coaching people of all abilities — including consulting work with a multinational bank and a university — I’ve found that lasting progress almost always comes from doing simple things, consistently and well.
As your fundamental strength coach, I help you build the physical capacity to handle whatever life asks of you. That might never look like lifting a giant rock — but it will look like picking up your kids, staying strong through long days, and feeling physically capable in your own body.
I also run The Temple’s Stone Club, and I’m passionate about sharing traditional stone lifting as a way to build real, transferable strength — grounded in history, community, and fundamentals that still matter today.

But more than any qualification or title, I’m most proud of my relationship with my clients. We don’t just get the work done; we make it enjoyable. My job is to take complex ideas, simplify them, and make them actionable. Anyone can do that, but only a few can make it stick and make it fun. And yes, we have a laugh along the way—because if you're not enjoying the process, you’re missing the point.

The odd stuff I lift is something I love and that challenges me, but when I coach you, I’m focused on what you need. The fundamentals I teach are universal. They’ll give you the ability to lift what’s important to you, whether that’s a dumbbell, a heavy bag of groceries, or, yes, maybe even the occasional stone.
